Do-Not-Stack Pallet Cones Are Necessary
Pallets are a great way to ship and store products. The wood is sturdy and can hold a lot of product. Because of the regular shape of the pallet, it can make it easy to stack things on top of the loaded pallet. The fact that they are standardized also makes it easy to load the pallet on forklifts or other lifts for transportation. But sometimes, things get loaded onto pallets that can't have another load stacked on top of it. In that case, there needs to be a clearly marked way for everyone to know to not stack anything on top of that particular pallet. One way is to use a do-not-stack pallet cone.
Do-Not-Stack Pallet Cone
These are cones that can be placed on top of a loaded pallet. They are generally made out of cardboard or light plastic. The benefit of using something like cardboard is that it can be folded and unfolded for use and storage. The cone is securely attached to the top of the pallet. Depending on the size of the cone, it may be one large cone secured in the center or smaller ones secured at the corners. The cone is usually brightly colored and very clearly states to not stack anything on that pallet. There are several reasons to make sure to use one of these cones.
Fragile
One reason to use one of these cones is if the product is fragile. For example, if the shipment is filled with wine bottles, it would be fragile. Placing anything heavy on top of a pallet full of wine bottles—even if they are packaged well—has a high risk of causing breakage. However, if you put a do-not-stack pallet cone on top of the pallet, then no one will put another pallet layer on top of the pallet of wine bottles, which should keep the bottles safe.
Hazardous
Another reason to use one of these cones would be if the product would be hazardous if it were to get all over the place. This could include various chemicals. You wouldn't want to stack things on top of those pallets because if something were to happen, there is a risk of personal injury or property damage.
Do-not-stack pallet cones are a useful form of equipment that ensure that pallets whcih shouldn't have another layer placed on top of them don't get anything stacked on top of them.
