Making Customers Happy

Nearly four years ago, I launched my first business venture. I immediately learned the importance of doing everything in my power to make my customers happy. I worked hard to get products into my customers’ hands as quickly as possible. Are you an entrepreneur? Perhaps you only offer one shipping option to your clients. To grow your business, consider providing customers with multiple shipping alternatives. You might also wish to give clients a discount on shipping costs when a purchase reaches a certain monetary threshold. On this blog, I hope you will discover the most common shipping options established companies offer their customers.

Fast, Faster, Fastest: The Superlatives Of Shipping In Business

Business deliveries rely on safe, clean and quick service. How quick depends on how fast you want to send it and how fast the customer or client wants to receive it. If you are not yet familiar with the many shipping choices available to you, and you do not offer all of these services because you do not know how they operate, it is time to get acquainted with the superlatives of shipping in business.

Fast

Three to five days for most deliveries is fast. If things are shipped overseas to a foreign country, this is especially fast. The post office, UPS, Fedex, and any one of several other shipping companies can manage fast, so the only thing you really have to consider is price. Some charge flat rate, while others charge by weight and distance.

Faster

Faster is better, right? Especially since faster usually means two to four days, with most shipments reaching their destinations in two. Of course, that is business days, and not weekend days, so there is that to consider. The post office does deliver some packages on Sundays now, as well as Saturdays, but a couple of the other big shipping companies still will not move a package on Sundays. If you and your customers want faster, they will need to order no later than Tuesday to get it by Saturday or sooner.

Fastest

Fastest is about the fastest any package can go. Most people will not pay for the shipping on the fastest delivery speed because it is usually pretty astronomical, but if they do want their packages yesterday then they pay the fee and you ship it out. Fastest means they get it in one to two days, with most packages arriving in one day or less. If they want their stuff crazy-fast, then they can overnight it for a humongous shipping fee and a plane carts it across country in a few hours so that the package is dropped on their doorstep before they have had time to finish their coffee.

Following Through on the Shipping

So when a customer orders something, and you operate a small business, you receive the shipping fee with the purchase price. That said, if they want faster or fastest shipping available, you have to hurry to whatever shipper the customer requests and zip that package out pronto. If you delay, you owe the customer a refund on the shipping, because then you are no longer "fast, faster, or fastest," but really slow.
